I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and will have a great New Year!

Archery practice resumes tomorrow (Saturday) from 4pm to 5pm. If you are an archery team member (you’ve received an invitation to be on the team) then that practice is from 3pm to 4pm.

It looks like a sunny day, but it will be cold. Please dress warmly for the practice. We often have the kids take off their coats while shooting, and put them back on again while they’re waiting and pulling arrows.

We hope to see you there!

Just a reminder to our archery fans and members, we’re taking our holiday break. We’ll be returning to learning and teaching archery on January 02, 2010.

IMG_3163In the mean time, here’s a photo of us handing over our charity check over to The Place of Forsyth County. They do a great job of handing out food to the people in our community that needs a meal.

It’s raining cats and dogs outside and that makes for bad archery. Add in the threat of thunderstorms and it’s better for us to cancel practice ahead of time.

There will *not* be any practice next week as well. The team will going to the Gainesville 900 Target tournament and you are invited! Admission is $15 and these folks put on a great tournament. Check out their web site for more information.

MORE INFO COMING! Club members should be on the lookout for more notices later today about changes of our practice time to the summer hours, JOAD information, and team information! Be on the lookout for an email!

We had a great time at Dan Murphy’s house practicing at his indoor range for the tournament this weekend. Thanks Dan!

Our coaches and the majority of our archers will be at the 4-H tournament this weekend, so there will not be any practice. We’ll pick it back up on March 7th. Hope to see you there!

There was a chance that practice would be cancelled this weekend due to the GAA Joad Tournament, however we will have enough coaches still available for normal practice this Saturday. Keep an eye on the weather and on this web site for cancellations due to inclement weather. Right now it looks like there might be some rain. Of course, that’s what they said last weekend and we had pretty good weather.

We’d love to see you out there shooting archery and letting those arrows fly!

Hello friends of the Forsyth County Archery Club!

Tomorrow, January 3rd 2009, we resume our archery practice, if the weather cooperates. It appears as if the temperature will be 57F, with a 30% chance of rain. As you know, our policy with weather is that “Well practice in the cold, and we’ll practice in the rain, however we won’t practice in the cold and rain.” Tomorrow has the potential of being cold and rainy. Please check our web site (http://forsytharchery.com/club) for any cancellation announcement.

Setup begins at 2:30pm, practice begins at 3:00pm and goes until 4:30pm. We hope to see you there … if the rain holds off.

I just got a voice mail from Tommy Bruce from the Forsyth Parks and Rec. Department. He said that he’d be sure that the gates are open Thursday night and asked us to shoot in the lower field.

Please invite a friend along to learn the great sport of archery!
