I’d like to thank Lori Kekel for taking the photos of the tournament.
As you can see, the sky opened up on us several times. Eventually, the tournament had to be cancelled to due lightning and heavy rains. The Cloverleaf (youngest group) of archers pretty much finished their portion of the tournament. The senior recurve archers got through their FITA (target) tournament. The senior compound archers got part way through their FITA and part way through the 3D targets. The juniors, unfortunately didn’t really get to shoot because the rain came in the afternoon and was a wash out.
My thanks goes out to all of our parents for helping make this as good as it could be of a bad situation. Thank you to all of the 4-H staff and volunteers. Rain makes everything harder for a thankless job. But, to you, the Forsyth County Archery Club thanks you!!!

Once again I’m done proud by the Forsyth County Archery Club at the 2009 Georgia Games Archery Tournament. We had archers of all ages competing in recurve and compound competitions. Let’s keep up the great level of shooting!

We brought as many members of our club and team as we could. The weather was beautiful and the kids shot well. Thanks Gainesville for hosting such a great archery tournament!

Wow, what a turn out. I think the organizers were pleasantly surprised with the turnout and they had to do some quick reallocation of targets to handle the influx. We shot from 6pm to midnight for the end of the tournaments. Again, I’m really proud of our archers. Some of them shot their personal best. We only have a couple of photos but you can see what a great turnout there was.

I’m very proud of all of our archers. It was a beautiful day for a tournament. We didn’t have all of our archers due to spring break vacations and such, but those that went did really well. Take a look!
