The Cumbrian held off a rally from British No 1 Simon Terry to claim the title 118-117 for the first time, at Lilleshall.
“Simon is one of the best in the world, he’s brilliant,” said Wills. “If I can beat him, there’s no reason why I can’t beat anyone.
“I’m quite proud of myself, how things have gone over the last few months. It’s going in the right direction.
“I was one point ahead all the way in the final, and Simon put three 10s in to finish. I had to do the same with my last three to win and managed to clip the last arrow. It was quite intense.
“The 10 is about the size of a 10 pence piece and you have to hit it every time from 18 metres.
